AI video prompts for product shots: protect the details that sell

Prepare a product video brief around shape, material, label and one useful motion, with a prompt you can adapt.

The short answer

Decide which product details must be exact before generating. Keep the first motion simple, inspect the entire clip and add precise text separately when necessary.

Separate decoration from product truth

Lighting and background can be flexible; the shape, logo, capacity or mechanical behavior of a product may not be. List the features a buyer would rely on. An appealing scene is not usable if it depicts a different product or an unsupported function.

Choose a clean source image that shows those features clearly. Avoid using an attractive but inaccurate concept render as the only reference for a real item. For a multi-angle shot, consider whether you have reliable information about every surface that becomes visible.

Give the motion a selling purpose

Use motion to reveal texture, demonstrate a simple action or direct attention. A slow camera move across a fabric surface can support a material story. A complex object spin may add spectacle while making labels and proportions harder to maintain.

Start without hands if handling is not essential to the message. When a hand is needed, make the contact point and destination clear. Keep the rest of the scene restrained so the product action remains the focus.

Review at the intended viewing size

Inspect the full clip for changing proportions, wandering lettering and unrealistic reflections. Then view it at the size and crop of the final placement. A defect hidden in a large desktop preview may become the only noticeable detail in a short mobile clip.

If exact wording matters, add the approved text or logo during editing rather than expecting generation to preserve every letter. Keep this extra work in the production budget and verify the final exported asset before publishing.

An editable starting brief

This is an original planning exercise, not a tested output guarantee. Adapt it to your subject and the controls available in your selected interface.

A plain olive backpack stands upright on a wooden tabletop. One continuous medium shot. The camera makes a gentle push forward while the bag stays still. Soft daylight reveals the fabric texture and zipper shape. Keep the silhouette and strap arrangement consistent. Leave clear space on the left for a caption added during editing.

Before you approve the result

  • The product matches the approved reference throughout.
  • The motion reveals something useful.
  • Final captions and claims match the real product.

Should I generate the logo and promotional text inside the clip?

If exact lettering is essential, a separate editing layer gives you direct control. Review the generated product itself for unwanted or altered text before adding the final graphic.
